Onslow Flat

A delicate balance between heritage and contemporary living defines this restored London flat. The project reimagines a traditional interior through a lens of light, clarity, and material restraint, delivering a calm, modern home that remains deeply rooted in its architectural context.

The original spatial generosity of the flat has been carefully preserved and enhanced. Restored cornicing, tall openings, and generous proportions establish a classical framework, while wide plank pale timber floors introduce warmth and continuity throughout the living spaces. Natural light is drawn deep into the plan, strengthening visual connections between rooms and reinforcing the sense of openness.

The kitchen is conceived as a precise, functional intervention within the historic shell. Soft grey joinery, integrated appliances, and concealed lighting create a quiet, architectural composition that privileges light, texture, and view over visual noise. Every detail is resolved with clarity and restraint.

In the bathroom, the material palette shifts to natural stone and warm timber, establishing a serene, spa-like atmosphere. A floating vanity enhances spatial lightness, while minimal fittings and carefully aligned surfaces reinforce the project’s understated sophistication.

This restoration is an exercise in subtle transformation—where contemporary design is seamlessly woven into a traditional London flat, creating a timeless interior defined by light, proportion, and material integrity.
